I went from being a confident, successful professional to having to seek therapy and medication after working at US Bank. Worst experience of my life. The company is chock full of good people who have turned mean for survival. Thank god I’m no longer there, but the ptsd is real and is taking much longer than I thought it would to heal from. I hate how hard I was on myself when I worked there. The company is culture is messed up. Everyone there needs to be kinder to eachother.

@11a the place started to go downhill when AC took over. It felt like a smaller family bank until then, and since GK took the wheel it's become really nothing more than a corporate shithole where talent doesn't stay. Idk what rock you've been living under, but it hasn't been great for a lot longer than the last 2 years.
@10g what the he-l are you going on about? Just these past couple years have been tough. It was fine before. If you had “years of toxicity” then it was on you to leave and find another job that worked better for you.
Worked two decades there. Layed off last year. I was completely financially secure and when the vague meeting with manager appeared, I knew what it was. Severance amount while significant, did not move wealth needle much. So during call, I was thinking about what highly speculative investment I could do and made a nice Americano. So calm as can be. I was wearing a blood glucose CGM. I had not eaten and am not diabetic. The cortisol triggered glucose dump during call was stunning. My body was in survival mode. Never seen such a spike. Never underestimate your involuntary body system. Now consider years of working at a toxic work place. You are ki-ling your self and don’t even know it. I just happens to be curious and bought the CGM. Buy one, see your glucose spike before your one on one with your toxic egomaniacal boss. Then simplify, lower costs, save, invest and GTF out of Indian led corporate “America”

I am not sure why people take the extraordinary rating so seriously and get all worked up. It is not remotely worth ones own health.
USB corporate life landed me in OT for 'occupational trauma' therapy. Had never even heard of it before.
Went from diligently pushing myself to consistently and successfully exceed expectations year after year to jumping through hoops, defying human biological needs, and ultimately destroying my health just trying to meet new, unclear, undocumented, unattainable, unethical expectations to save my job.
Absolute mindf***k. Still in therapy a year later. Do yourself a favor and GTFO as soon as you see the writing on the wall. It's not you, it's the corporate spawn of Lu----r.

@OP I’m not there anymore either (laid off in this hostile job market), but anytime I think about my time at USB it’s like a punch in the gut. It changed me, and made me doubt humanity entirely. Don’t forget that everything comes back around to those who injured you. Corporate is a horrible place to good people. It’s not you.

I left. I lost my smile…. And was surviving. After 16 years…. it was goodbye. I work elsewhere and my smile is back.

I've been at USB for 16 years as of July 28, this is not the same bank I started at at all. I am desperately trying to leave, but I can't just sc--w myself without another job lined up.
@ak I left. It takes time to find a new job, especially the higher your role is. I was interviewing off and on for about 9 months before getting three offers. It really depends on the market and timing.
OP, anyone who tries to humble you in a corporate environment intuitively understands they're beneath you. Continue to live well.

@ak you think the employment market is in the employees favour??? A HUGE amount of employees hate working here and are probably actively looking. One things for sure, not a lot of people are motivated to work to the best of their ability and any loyalty they once had is gone.
I’d like to see the sickness rates right now. I imagine they’re only trending one way.
How many of these posts are just trolls vs. people who actually got frustrated / fed-up enough to leave? I'm skeptical because talk is cheap (especially on here) and I hate to agree with Gunjan, but I don't see many leaving at least in my department.
I’m in a similar situation. This used to be a lovely company, now it’s rotten. Everyone is just putting their head down and complying, goes to show we’ve no true leaders to stand up to the managing committee. It’s times like these I wish we had a workers union. There is power in numbers.
Same boat. I joined impact finance. There are some great people there and the work was interesting, but the culture is woke and good ol’boy. You would think we were still in civil rights era working in that group. Totally backwards. Glad I left.
