Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Culture of _________

What does it say about a manager who does not partake in the Truist anniversary celebrations for his/her direct reports? Is this business as usual at Truist or a symptom of undesirability within the management ranks?

@OP Could just mean your manager is socially awkward and/or not a big anniversary celebration type person. Are they acknowledging some people’s anniversaries and not others‘? If everyone are ignored I wouldn’t read too much into it.

My manager sent me a message on teams 2 weeks later 🤷‍♀️. It’s super hard to keep track of 6 people I guess.

It says exactly what you think it says. They don’t care because that have other “more important” things to deal with and other employees don’t care either. Too bad, really. It’s so easy to acknowledge someone’s loyalty and tenure.

I don’t need/want the ‘pat on the back’ from anyone. Just give me my money. Been here over 20 years and I’m just flying u see the radar until I can do my Irish goodbye and ride off into the sunset.

As a matter of fact, I kind of feel ashamed when someone said to me "congrat on your X-X years of service". It means either I am incompetent to move to a higher paying job, or I am stuck here because of some undesirable external factors.

This really belong to the boomers maybe people over 60.

I hit 20 and no one said a word. How times have changed.

@OP Who cares? This millennial/zoomer desire to be reminded how great and special they are....I do not care about my service length and worthless trophies and "congrats". Pay increases for a job well done are more important than just sticking around celebrations.

Not business as usual, at least in my experience. I'm sorry no one celebrated them. Fwiw, from an internet stranger - thank you for your year(s) of service!
