Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Totally unacceptable

It is wrong to replace hardworking citizens with outside control. Someone should report to the department of labor to track the lay offs by the immigration status, nationality, number of contractors recruited, internal promotions by nationality etc.
It's sad that one of the prestigious bank in the USA is controlled by the outsiders.
Please report the fraudulent activities and unethical hiring practices to the government agencies.

@OP
Make a distinction between hiring overseas and hiring foreign workers within the US.

Firing people in the US and hiring overseas makes sense for a global bank that operates in over 50 countries. Operations centers in India, Philippines, Costa Rica, Poland, support global operations not just those taking place in the US. The company decided to place global operations centers in those locations a long time ago.

Firing QUALIFIED US citizens within the US and replacing them with H1Bs within the US is a different matter entirely. If Citi is doing this, report it. But be sure that those citizens being fired in the US are QUALIFIED to do the work being done by the H1Bs they're being replace with. Just because you're a US citizen doesn't make you qualified to do anything or everything. But I absolutely agree with you that there's no excuse for riffing an American and replacing them with a non-citizen foreigner for the same job.

Hello, Citi HR !

That's doubtful since Citi would have already gotten hit with fines and violations of law.

Either the above Or Citi is LYING AND EXCLUDING-OMITTING Information to the Regulators and U.S. Government which would NOT be the the first or last time in Citi's history.

Exactly. The same MF keeps posting multiple threads and posts about Citi's illegal hiring practices spamming the site.

It's because of people like him/her that Citi gets away with the illegal hiring practices, because HE'S waiting for SOMEONE ELSE to report the problems to the U S. Government agencies.

If Everyone is waiting for someone else to do the reporting, Citi continues to Win and get away with the illegal hiring practices.

He/she is only wasting his/her time, effort, aggravation and mental health by constantly posting about the problems that are obviously eating away at him/her, by Not reporting the problems himself/herself.

Pathetic.

@OP, you’ve been starting a new thread on the same topic almost every day. All you're accomplishing is pushing other threads off the front page while fragmenting the discussion on this topic across multiple duplicate threads. If you want to discuss it, stick to your original thread instead of creating duplicates.

Btw, if you genuinely believe there's fraud or unlawful hiring taking place, what's stopping you from reporting it? Why keep asking for "someone" else to do it instead?

Citibank customers and corporate clients should walk away, hang up the phone and do business with an AMERICAN bank.

A call to ICE to arrange an inspection of your workplace would be a splendid idea!
