Layoffs = Increased shareholder value
Investors will not blindly invest just because of workforce reduction. The underlying cause here is to cover the bad debt for the moment but with no hope that the losses will stop here. If layoff bad performers and hiring new talent or over hired in the past, that’s a different story. Layoffs in O is a clear confirmation to the investors that company’s finances are in bad shape. It will dump the stock price
There are two recordings of course. Always are.
No stock went to due to a new partnership not because of layoffs.
But the stock market is picking up the layoff news and they are worried because of again the cost of layoffs and stability of the business.
well its down today so idk
You're reading into this far too much. People are speculators.
After the layoff in march.. the stock shot up a single digit percentage before depressing again. It didn't really move until Oracle announced new business contracts for their data centers.
Don’t worry it will head right back down. O is getting rid of some liabilities but it won’t make a dent to the bad investments O is making in AI. At the end of the day, O is digging a deeper hole for itself and will be buried in its own grave when the AI shoe falls. Too much ego at the top to pull the plug and stop losses but that is always how titans fall. LE is too busy enjoying his cushion life on an island with Mrs. Smith. Too damn old to make anymore logical decisions
@OP was hoping for fa----s and unicorns.
Less committed RSUs liability.
It’s not personal, it’s business.
It's always been that way though. Publicly traded company lays off, and they're dancing in the street on Wall Street, stock price soars, company smiles all the way to the bank. Meanwhile, their rif'd employees sign up for unemployment and struggle to keep food on the table while they try to find new opportunities.
The rumor has been existed since the first week of August, so the layoffs are not the reason the stock is going up.
Do you believe everything analysts say? You will lose money in the stock market.
