Lots of out of office notifications. What’s up with that?

All Director+ roles have "unlimited" PTO. Generally that means we take zero PTO but in the case of VSPs those people are taking 5, 6, 7+ weeks. They aren't required to follow the no PTO in the last two weeks rule.

From what I have learned you can take your vacation only if it is two weeks prior of your VSP date. The company wants you present during your final two weeks for hand off activity related to your position.
