I got laid off almost two weeks ago. I received a personal and work email for a job offer. It’s Employee Installation Representative. It’s for 5 months. It would not mess with my severance. I would get paid what I was making. Has anyone else received an email Iike this or accepted this?

@OP Will they still provide you with your benefits?
Have you considered that you are being paid to train your offshore replacement? Your position was eliminated before they realized that you have knowledge they need so a contract gig. Ask for more money!
Ohh 5 month contract! So that’s why you’ll still get the severance.
is it because your next job is just a 5 month contract?
If you’ve been laid off for two weeks, shouldn’t you still receive the severance since they offered you a new job after you stopped working due to the layoff? And the email says you will still receive it. That does sound too good to be true because if you haven’t started receiving it yet it’s easy for them not to give it to you. But I have seen post where people have still gotten it in your same situation. Call HR. If they say you still get it, then you still get it.
The email said I will still receive my severance.
Beware. They do this so they don't have to pay you your severance. If you search the posts here, you'll find similar people in your unfortunate situation.
