I'm not even trying anymore. Most of my time is spent on the job search, since I know that no matter what I do, I'll be shown the the door at the end. I used to give it my all and then some every single day and I still got put on a PIP. I simply don't give a single damn anymore.

But if you survive this PIP, don’t you like have another chance till they give you the second one ? At least can do the visibility of trying to survive it, you may be able to extend your annual contract and then you got entire year to look for a job.
@ag+1 has a very underrated comment. All of our peers are doing layoffs EM is doing the same thing but won't pay severance. So much for care They just cut you loose under the guise of performance. Will do anything to save a buck and the employee base isn't wise enough to realize what's going on because they've worked here their whole lives and know no different. If someone sued they would win but nobody has the ba--s to try
It's healthy to have that attitude about it.
At least with the charade of a PIP, they're giving you time to get serious with your search for a new job...on THEIR dime!

Congratulations. I think many of us in our 40’s are looking for jobs and trying to leave.
@OP Correct approach. you can show up 24 hours a day, complete all your projects on time , and still not meet the satisfaction of your boss.
Any one know about a lawsuit with regards to this unnecessary using performance to layoff ?
And PIP you again next year with automatic termination
