@a6 I can't believe that he is an ICB6 engineer. According to my sources in the engine team, he doesn't have much output.

Why have managers at all?
You know what? Last year, the security response director laid off many office workers in the U.S., India, and Japan, but kept all the remote employees in Dublin, Ireland. There is now a manager in Dublin who manages only six engineers: four are in different countries, and two are in the same country as him, but both work remotely. So, what's the point of having such a manager?
@a6 What OP said is basically true! They recently returned to the office(before the new GM came), likely after receiving a heads-up from someone.
They had been working remotely for years, while other employees were forced to either return to the office or leave the company.
JonO hasn't done much good for STAR since the Symantec days, and his grasp of cybersecurity appears somewhat limited.
There are competent managers below him who could run security response more smoothly on their own.
@a6 He's an ICB6? I can assure you that many ICB4 engineers outperform him. I feel sorry for those ICB3 and ICB4 engineers who haven't been promoted in years.
I guess you don't work here anymore? They have been working from home for several years, but they returned to the office about a year ago.
Also, Dumitr* no longer reports directly to him. I remember this dude clearly, he was promoted from ICB3 to ICB6 very quickly after the acquisition. Maybe the reporting lines were slightly adjusted to hide their relationship.
