Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

they would never make the error of you knowing that you are on a list

If you think they would make a mistake like that and that you’d somehow know upfront that you were going to be terminated ,you’re crazy. Do you really think they would make an error like this ? they've been doing it for years

having the OIM account added DOES NOT mean you’re on a list. You may still end up being laid off, but it’s not because of the OIM account.

stress is making us seeing the worst in everything ..

Regardless of whether the account means RIF list or not ...

"fiNaL-tErMiNaTiOn" on the account description is pure HR stream of consciousness GPT slop.

The function is device lock out, period. It's a matter of security.

Whoever pasted that slop should be riffed with the rest of us.

@ab one of the sun layoffs they moved everyone being let go to a new group #. So in the namefinder tool you could do an advanced search by group # and get the complete list. Fun times.

There was an accidental clue just before the 2017 SUNW layoff. What you could do was go into self service apps and print a "proof of employment" letter. If you were on the list it would show the layoff date. It was quickly changed, but by that time everyone had printed the letter and their fate was known.

They clearly did make an error. Now they hid the description. You can only find the record searching "aegis" now instead of "device". They also got rid of the termination description text. I have it. I'm dont working today. Everyone who has it should stop too

This post implies a lot of faith in a company that constantly makes mistakes. One that's 300 billion $ in debt and rapidly growing to another company that only has 40 billion $ in annual revenue.

Also, every other time something new is provisioned in OIM, we receive an email informing us…. Pretty sure no one received one for this.

This is just HR slop. Clearly they did make an error in letting people know. Why would they add this before layoffs? If this was a function they always have for employees people would have had it for years
