Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Sept 4thers start prepping, please add to the list!

Please use this thread for anything we should consider:

  1. write down login details for VSP site
  2. update security questions in myPay
  3. confirm personal email and address in Workday
  4. write down your 6 digit employee ID (I’m an old employee that uses first initial last name so I never memorized this number)

Anything else I’ve missed??

@ka

It was like this at my last company too. You couldn’t even give someone a LinkedIn review. Wonder what the rationale is behind that?

@e3 just so all of you know. My direct went to HR to confirm if it was ok to give a letter of reference. Was informed that Centene "typically do not issue reference letters" If it's more formal and asking for reference as their former people leader then they don't do that either. They were also informed that we, as employees, cannot list our people leaders as references on future job applications. No verbal or written references from any Centene leader is allowed. Don't let the door hit you in the a$$ as you leave this company. Some people dedicated decades to this company and "not allowing" you to ask for a reference is just sad.

@ek Kind of. The day after your final day you will get an email, make sure your email on file is correct. Because it's a holiday weekend, it might be Saturday, it might be Tuesday - HR could/would not confirm. Then there is a 7 day "revocation" period. HR didn't know if it is calendar or business. Once that is up, then you will get your severance in 1 to 2 pay periods, on the company pay date. Earliest will be Sept 25. Latest will depend on when you sign the email and calendar verses business days. Hypothetically, latest should be Oct 9.

Am I reading correctly that we will not be paid VSP for 45 days after we sign agreement?

If on good terms with your manager, ask for a letter of reference.

@aj they mean is there anything missing from say a to-do list before they remove access. I would say to have it completed by 9/1 you never know what this company.

If you have monitoring that sends to your phone (SMS) make sure to remove yourself from that alerting.
