Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Are virtuals getting an unfair pickleball advantage?

This issue needs to be addressed before the new AT&T headquarters in Plano opens.

The Plano campus will have pickleball courts, which means employees may soon be competing against one another on a regular basis. However, virtual employees already have a major advantage: they do not have to spend up to two hours each day commuting to and from the Dallas headquarters.

While the rest of us are sitting in traffic, virtual employees could be using that time to practice their serves, improve their game, and prepare for the Plano courts. By the time the new headquarters opens, employees who have been commuting may be years behind in pickleball development.

This creates a serious fairness issue. The Plano pickleball courts should be a level playing field, but that will not be possible if one group has had significantly more time to practice simply because of where they work.

Leadership needs to act now, before the competitive gap becomes impossible to close. I am requesting that virtual employees return to the office so everyone has the same commuting obligations and the same opportunity to prepare.

We cannot wait until the first Plano pickleball tournament to realize that this problem should have been handled sooner. The integrity of AT&T pickleball is at stake and the time to act is now before it is too late.

Pickelball-are you kidding me. This dumpster fire is going down and there’s discussion of pickleball. Get a real job with a real focus on employee retention like Apple and get the fu-k out of this he-l hole.

@ae instead of investing in useless sh-t, they need to invest in revamping our trade in process. All day every day all we hear are customers calling because they did a trade in promotion with AT&T and the phone "Didn't qualify" and it wasn't even the phone they sent in that was reviewed (stolen by either someone at the post office OR in our return center) or it never makes it to the evaluation process so the customer is a-s out on the promo and stuck with a new line because retail added a line rather than upgrading so that in and of itself is a whole added level to the sh-t show.

Guarantee you the Pickleball courts will only be for C-Suite. Who else will have time to even WANT to use them. After sitting in traffic, dealing with manufactured urgency, overinflated egos, gross misinformation from L2 and higher, false senses of "insight and influence" from the same L2's and higher, and an overall sense of unease for the next round of surpluses (Because lets face it, there will ALWAYS be a next round)...who the he-l is even thinking about a Pickleball court?...Pay folks more and leave folks alone. A pickleball court is not what everyone needs when they are literally just trying to make it day to day until they can escape the void into something else employment wise.

@OP

Don't worry. Virtuals have no interest in associating with bootlickers like you.

Have fun with your pickleball.
