We have got managers who should not be managing anyone, goals that are completely detached from reality, and zero training to help anyone succeed. Bullies run wild because nobody bothers to fire them anymore, bare minimum is the standard, and asking for pay that actually covers your bills somehow makes you the bad guy. They talk about integrity and flexibility but it is all empty words because neither shows up when you actually need it.

@z5 Oh?! Yes, no budget for anything.
@z5 our team is lucky then. We are able to backfill a nonmanagerial role easily. Guess it depends on circumstances
@ah - There is mostly a freeze on hiring right now, except for executives. The Cigna acquisition cost the company a lot of money, so budgets have been tightened or eliminated.
@es - Betts 2as a nightmare for this company that is still hurting it today. All accountability and competence was discarded with his changes. Just a terrible leader.
@hc oh you would be shocked at how many of these managers and VPs and directors we have. Toxic and abusive is a nice way to describe them. Frankly- some wouldn’t be employable anywhere else. All compliance and HR do is hook them with a “ coach” to cover their butts with lawsuits. They can say they were ” addressing” concerns. All they do is cover up the dung heap.
100000% True fact. Very unfortunately, I am under this kind of manager. Shouldn’t be a people leader at all. Forget support, he just barks orders, and haven’t seen him proposing a solution to a problem . My goals are a joke. He has full support from his direct and VP, so flying high, while driving some to PTSD . How can the management know this and still let him continue.?
@b1 The old regime had the good ol’ boyz network. They brought in Betts to do the hatcheting of the good ol’ boyz network and just brought a new one in with different faces. They even got rid of some of the Betts’ good ol’ boyz and brought some new ones in.
@OP you are spot on. Mostly everything is "good ol boyz" or what favors will you do for management. If they like you and you do what they say you get rewarded. Look at the number of years many have been here, that speaks volumes of "taking care of each other".
I agree with aj, I'm just here to collect a paycheck.
@ah external candidates get pushed thru even if the lack the qualifications- they just need to fit the agenda.
HR is a cesspool of mo--ns.
Who cares? It's much easier to shirk, skate, and slack when surrounded by chaos.
Wait...you aren't one that's trying to work hard for HCSC, are you?
100000000000%, starting with HR. Have referred numerous qualified external candidates to open positions over the past few months and they get no response on their applications. Not a follow up, not a rejection, nothing but silence. Are the posted openings even real? Or just ways for HR to justify their own headcount when the rest of the company is a disaster?
