Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Stock is Suffering

Deeper employee cuts must be made, shareholders are not going to tolerate the stock price continuing to erode. Quickest way to recover short term is to cut headcount, Wall Street loves to see operating cost reduced.

Relax, Wall Street. The layoffs are practically self-service at this point. The A-team already found better offer letters, the B-team followed, the C-team dusted off LinkedIn… and what’s left is somehow struggling with step-by-step instructions. Quick—someone expense a company-wide subscription to Hooked on Phonics before another SOP becomes a choose-your-own-adventure.

@1a6 network has been sold and dispersed, so why are we still talking about them? I think we need to focus on what’s gonna keep the tower business alive.

@19b That's exactly it the focus on the construction aspect of it building fiber too a pole in the middle of no where that serves 3 customers at best with a MRC $400. They should of been investing in the Network and targeting hyperscalers not fiber construction and small cell

@16z small cell was fine. Fiber still act like a regional company. They would build to anyone regardless of the cost bc it was building out thier network. You spend $150,000 to build to Tom’s plumbing for a $1200 month. Never was going to work

@14n Ths problem wasn't fiber it was the deployment of it and the focus on small cell. In retro spec they should been focused on the hyperscalers and building out a 400G network instead we got a micro trench machine

All the down votes are people that don’t realize that cell towers are just an over glorified WAP on steroids. That’s wireless access point for the technology inept folk at Clown Castle.

@sp they are all buying fiber companies now. Kind of funny how they sold at the bottom. This company never does anything right.

Don’t worry as soon as Wall Street finds out Crown has its own Chinese drone Air Force and has cartoon 3D mock ups of 60% of their towers the stock price will soar! There is great value in that right?

The only thing that is going to get the stock to move is when the carriers have more activity. The only thing that is going to do that is the implementation of 6G. We are still a couple years out from that…

Unfortunately I don't think Crown's stock is going to meaningfully improve for a while, unless there is some unexpected event like a very large stock buy-back. There just isn't much upside in the Crown's financial model, or even the whole industry's model, right now.

Stock pop today for no reason they must be deploying some of that buy back money since it was boarding on a 5 year low.. this the c-suits last trick before a sale to PE

Not surprised that Towers was not the saving grace for Clown Castle. Last time I checked, fiber infrastructure is the backbone for everything… telecom, IOT, Ai and whatever cutting edge tech that will be coming. Towers are a negligible part of that. Can’t finger point anymore, can you? HAHAHAHAHA!

@ar bringing in different execs hasnt panned out and now most of the forward looking people are gone. Everyone should be worried- you’re running out of fingers to point at others.

That is where the problem is. The ICs are what’s making this company not best in class. If they would just work harder and cheaper we would have a lot more profit.

@ar how would we become best in class if they did that

Start with the executives, Crown's best move would be replacing all of the VPs and C-suite
