@az Maybe Tim could have his friend Donald sign an executive order changing the name to American Business Machines.
Why would Tim disgrace himself to run a failing small Indian company?
Bring back freaky Ginni!
We need Pat Gelsinger bad!
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. He is a glorified inventory clerk who spent many years at IBM as you can see from his bio:
He worked for the computer manufacturer International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) from 1982 to 1994, with his final position being director of North American fulfillment. He was subsequently chief operating officer of the reseller division at the computer retailer Intelligent Electronics, Inc. (1994–97), and vice president of corporate materials at the computer manufacturer Compaq Computer Corp. (1997).
Apple and rise to CEO
Apple was on the verge of collapse when founder Steve Jobs rejoined the company in 1997. Cook joined Apple shortly thereafter in 1998 as senior vice president of worldwide operations.
The person IBM needs to reel in is Lisa Su AMD CEO. She is ex IBM and was Gerstner's TA technical assistant for a year. Absolutely brilliant. Education: Graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, then earned her bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
3 degrees from EE-Physics MIT!!! If you have never been MIT phew...Like Star Trek + Disneyworld + Tesla + NVIDIA etc etc. People there are scary smart.
When she joined AMD the stock was at $1.61. Current price is $470. That is a 29,000% increase!!!
