Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

How are you all coping with the extreme anxiety of not knowing anything??!

Having not heard any other updates regarding upcoming layoffs--whether they are even happening or not is causing a tremendous amount of anxiety. It is impacting everything for me. I know this may sound cliche, but it feels very much unfair to not give any information for this amount of time. Its so hard to focus on anything other than trying to figure out what to do next but doing so without any additional information is difficult. I know others are probably feeling the same but I am tired of being told to just "not stress". Hopefully, others will comment so I can at least feel like I am not alone. Sending positive energy to everyone impacted. Any tips/advice very much appreciated.

You just assume everyone has anxiety during this time. I’m at peace.

@bn I have not found the new EAP therapists helpful and it takes awhile to even get in. Again it’s new.

Just throwing this out there. Please come here with anything negative! We are all struggling with what is going on, whether by choice or not! Some of us are struggling worse than others. We should all be uplifting to each other. If you are pro Centene move along! TY

@ar Thanks for all you well wishers and hang in there and no job is worth it. No it’s not about the job. It’s about life and age.

@a1 no job is worth the fallout from doing soylike that. Think of your family and friends that will carry the burden of your decision. I promise you it is not worth it! 🙏

@a1 please call someone (the hotline) and talk to them. the weight you feel in this exact moment will not last. if you are enrolled in health benefits, I believe Spring Health (?) offers 6 free sessions.

Not good. I only declined VSP because September departure was stressed and it was penned as leave now or risk layoffs later. I was fine with a layoff because in my state VSP means no unemployment and I needed that safety net. Come to find out departure dates have been extended and my department had more losses than expected so my job is “safe”. I’ve been crying everyday. For those stressed about layoffs I wish I could trade places with you.
