Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

You're not safe

Somewhere, there's a spreadsheet with your name on it. The criteria could be anything, tenure, pay, age, or who knows what. Just make sure you're ready.

I couldn’t wait any long for a package so self-selected out of this place. I used to live my job and working here but the last two years has been such a drag.

@k6 How much tenure? I mean I see people with more tenure than my age and I am middle aged.

There are so many people that want to leave and would take some type of package, my former company did that years ago, and it was problem solved the people that didn’t want to be there left and they had very few people to lay off. Be humane and at least give people the option and let some of the people remain that actually wanna be here

Could not agree more! If you have tenure - you’re sc--wed. If you have tenure and you are a top performer, you’re still sc--wed. That makes you more expensive than others. I watched the number 2’s and 3’s move up not based on experience or skill set, but based on being cheaper labor. Contact Centers anyone?

US Banks goal is to have enough soft layoffs so that they don't have to actually officially do a major layoff. If they can pi-s off enough employees and deny them raises and bonuses. Their thought process is that the employees will quit so that they don't have to have a major layoff which will look bad on the company.

@OP How right you are. USB has the most despicable leadership in all of banking.

No one is ever safe. Give 70% effort and try not to sweat it. The overachievers are the big losers at the bank. I know it’s fu---d up thinking but it’s true

Was talking to someone about this earlier. I see my worth and know what I do is valued and necessary.

However, all it takes is someone deciding I'm too expensive and I'm a strike through on that spreadsheet.

If your location says, "united states" and not "india" you're not safe. That's why I don't even bother anymore. Why put in any effort when they could just send my entire department to india next week?

It doesn't matter what goonjan says either, because they have proven time and time again they will just rug pull anyone with surprise announcements that fu-k over employees.

Would not recommend anyone work here or bank here.
