Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

How much revenue per employee is enough?

Sabre is making double the revenue per employee that Amadeus makes. $600k per employee for Sabre and $300k per employee for Amadeus.

Yet layoffs at Sabre still continue.

How much revenue per employee will be enough for Sabre to stop the layoffs?

@1qg true, and we should be honored that he was willing to spend that precious retirement time further enriching himself and his cronies, and destroying Sabre even more than SM did by not taking any of the free COVID government money and by accelerating the completion of eliminating the expensive US employees by offshoring all the way up to the level of executive VP. I can barely even understand my SVP because his English is so bad.

@18y I doubt Kurt is stalling for retirement. He actually came out of retirement to take the Sabre job.

Sabre is burning through $1.3 million a day just on interest, which is alarming. It feels like a bottomless pit, with leadership completely disconnected from reality. Credit to the marketing team for trying to put a shine on things, but Ekert comes across like the captain of the Titanic, stalling until retirement and leaving the mess for others. The truth is, Sabre is in a bad spot; airlines can’t stand us, TMCs dislike us, agents are frustrated. This is the result of decades of arrogance and ignorance from the company itself.

The real question is the Claude to Employee Token to fully weighted salary ratio

@ck this is a super silly comparison. Amadeus net debt is 1X EBITDA and it generated 1.3B euros in FCF in 2025. Recent note that was issued by them had a 3.75% rate. Sabre’s senior secured notes have a 11%+ rate.
Amadeus revenue is more sticky with airlines. Sabre relies on agencies and has to pay them incentives. Apples and oranges.

@ba actually, the Amadeus and Sabre debt is almost identical.

https://www.financecharts.com/stocks/SABR/balance-sheet/total-debt

Amadeus has twice the revenue of Sabre and twice the net income, and 4x the employees.

If Sabre halved its debt then it should then have a stock price of at least half of Amadeus, so $33.

As long as Interest daily cost is 1.3 million plus it will never be enough.
