Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

First Monday of the qtr or last Friday

So many posts that contradict another post outta hard to keep up. WFR supposedly happening on Monday but a lot of talk that some groups have already been notified on Friday. So WFRs already finished?

The fact that Michael, who works so hard to seem like this good guy, allows this cr-p is shocking to me. Absolutely shocking. When I joined this company 7-8 years ago all I ever heard was what a great guy we worked for and how good he was to employees. An absolute smoke and mirrors situation. It’s truly disgusting. His leadership team is also awful. I wouldn’t say JC is surprising he seems like a straight up POS,

@bn I think they can't get by the WARN act if laying off a certain number in a time period. That's why severance is said to be 2 months (such is what's required by the WARN act) only 1 week per year. I could be wrong though.

My team didn’t get calendar invites when we were read the WFR script. 1st Monday of August last year our sales leader just called us on our mobile phones and read the script , An email followed with the details of the severance package and we had 5 days before everything was cut off. I Suggest everyone keep a separate cloud account with info you want to save for your next chapter as Dell IT tools will be watching you like a hawk .

@OP Sunce Dell is MOST concerned with is public image of destroying lived by the thousands...they do the layoff message in one on one's.

Maybe they feel its more humane...but having your "boss" read a prepared script and the HR "Henchman" giving you the financial news...seems almost more cruel than just an email.

Sooo...how many HR henchmen are there? How many 1 on 1's can a "Manager" have in one day?

Hence...the slow execution pattern.

No one knows where and when this will end (if ever).

Dell has $250M earmarked for layoffs. This was filed with the SEC a month ago. Invites will be sent today for Monday meetings "business update ".

@bm is right they trickle them out weekly so the press doesn’t get a hold of it and depress the stock price. Also, to avoid mandated WARN notifications which would also effect stick price, which we all know is the only thing that matters to leadership.

It’s literally weekly at this point. This is how the sc-m bags get past the WARN cycle. MD is piece of sh-t and a liar. He a fantastic conman.

I think they do it in waves. I know in the past (at least in CSG tech support) the invites went out late Friday evening or early Monday morning. I guess it depends on how many HR reps are required.
