@OP honestly curious about reasons to hire an employment attorney. Is this related to the VSP, or involuntary layoffs? I’m taking the VSP but just wanna know what I might be missing.

Hire an employment attorney. Ignore anyone that speaks out against that move and trying to discourage you from doing so.

@b2 What’s it to you? I mean, are you sincerely asking because you think you may want or need some legal advice or are you just wanting to try and discourage someone, pretending as though you know netter than any attorney and you think that there is no way anyone could possibly have a viable lawsuit or legal standings? If the later, are you voicing this opposition because you know there are legal grounds for lawsuit but you just want to discourage others and try and put a wet blanket on these sparks before it turns into something bigger?
