Several MRM employees were told that they could quit or move to Buffalo. Are more divisions at Citi offering this option?

Relocate and you are stuck in Buffalo, the Tundra of the North East. Go if you like good wings, Canadian beer is always cold and buy a Subaru with Chunky All Terrains.
Do not move for a Citi job. I have watched people do the move and then were laid off and then unable to move back home...

Citi has done this to employees over the years. Citi su-kered employees into relocating TO low cost locations only for the employees to get Laid off anyway 1 to 3 years after moving.
Think Tampa, Florida; Texas (Irving, Dallas, San Antonio); Buffalo,NY; Missouri; Utah; South Carolina; North Carolina; Delaware; Idaho, Iowa.
I know people who moved to low cost locations For Citi, only for Citi to Fvck Them Over.
There's a reason low cost locations are low cost. There are fewer employers and fewer job openings there. And certainly the jobs that are available pay less than high cost locations.

@b1 LOL one word "Winter". I spent most of my adult life living in Tampa but made an ill advised 3year work stint in CT (much nicer than NY). I've traveled widely and Tampa is in my humble opinion the best mid size city in America ahead of Austin and San Diego. Especially if you live in South Tampa like I do.
My role at 388 was eliminated due to relocation strategy. I was not offered any other location in the process, and eventually I found out it was part of a ramp-up in India.
Are you at 388? P.S. - best thing that ever happened to me at Citi was getting the package so I can slide into Medicare next year after 16 years of worsening work environment at Citi.

Correct. Above Orange and Putnam Counties, the weather and winters are brutally cold with more than one meter of snow on the ground during the winter months of November to March.
The temperatures are easily BELOW negative 7 Degrees Celsius = 20 Degrees Fahrenheit for several weeks or months.
Then you have heavy rains during Spring April to June.
For people who don't know where Orange and Putnam counties are, they're North of Scarsdale, New York and New City, NY (both well-known wealthy towns/municipalites).
Yes, this is happening in a handful of specific businesses and teams. Some are specifically targeting remote workers.
@b1 Do you have any idea what Buffalo is like? Bitterly cold during winter without a blade of glass growing there, plus heightened risk of Lyme's disease. SUmmer can be nice, but Buffalo takes a lot of getting used to for those that aren't from upstate NY originally.

Citi Texans and Citi Floridians are so d-mb. They are being replaced by foreign workers. These are #MAGA states. So, that makes sense!
Do NOT quit. Force Citi to Lay you off and pay you severance.
Citi is trying to bully you into quitting so that Citi does not need to pay severance. If you voluntarily move to Buffalo, NY you've basically handed Citi the advantage and winning cards.
Tell Citi you will Not and can Not move, relocate to Buffalo. The ball will then be in Citi's court.
Citi will either Lay you off or not Lay you off.
If Citi Lays you off, Citi will claim that your job/role was relocated to a low cost area, Buffalo, New York.
If Citi does not Lay you off, Citi might try the tactics of managing you out, making your work and life miserable so that you Quit voluntarily so that Citi does Not need to pay you severance. This is Illegal and you should speak to an employee-side Employment Lawyer about this.
