EviCore culture turns for the worse

Anyone else seen the culture take a nose dive for the worse since February? People stressed, checking out, listening to coworkers get screamed at on calls by on fellow coworkers and nothing happens as a result of the unprofessional behavior. Departments fighting with one another. Not agreeing on the direction to take on projects or even the go-forward strategy for the company. People sending nasty, sarcastic emails to one another. Terrible!

It sounds a bit like the set of movies titled Hunger Games.

Cannot recall that one line, but something like “May the outcome ever be in your favor!” I don’t think that is the exact line but close.

What felt like a good place to work has now turned into a nightmare. Evicore has turned into a completely toxic environment. There is no clear direction, task are being bushed and forced off to people with only 30minutes of training. It horrible. I hear that Cigna has its own “PDEA evicore team” but it’s been unsuccessful because they don’t have the sufficient pre authorization systems to be taking calls acting as a pre authorization department. Like how are you taking calls, contacting the provide office to expedite something when you can’t even expedite anything, you have to transfer them to evicore directly? Cigna is playing in people face and playing with their health. I also hear that the Cigna’s evicore department is do dismantled, they are now taking on other calls such as repeat claims, surefit, misdirected calls from HCH and etc with little to no training. Nobody is talking about these things in meetings. People are just coming to work with something new through at them everyday with no training or refreshing courses! And let’s no discuss how little the are paid! That would be another topic. Ever heard the term, “Work like a dog, Get paid like a Slave”

The culture is night and day from the MedSolutions days when I first started. With each sale and merger, things have gone downhill incrementally. Going fully remote definitely blunted the direct effects of the shift for a while, but the underlying rot caught up. I thought I had found the company I’d retire with when I first started.
Now, I’m just counting the days, doing what I can, while other teams can’t hit their audit numbers or keep up with their workload. Instead of fixing their processes, they just offload the extra work onto us and throw up roadblocks rather than collaborating. It’s a systemic way for some groups to do the bare minimum while dumping excess work elsewhere, and it’s going to have serious negative impacts down the line.
I haven’t looked for a job in many years, but I’ve been updating the resume and seeing what’s out there. Honestly, this whole experience has me burnt out on this entire industry altogether. It’s rough having to restart a career at this stage in life, but here we are... all in the name of shareholder profit.

Evicore has had a revolving door of poor leadership for years, along with a high percentage of turnover. Highly valued employees continuously leaving combined with the company's uncertainty. Not surprised to hear this
