Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

The latest at this sick bank

Under HK’s “leadership”, U.S. Bank has gotten so desperate as to schedule unsolicited client appointments on bankers’ schedules.
Unbeknownst to the banker, the client has not requested any appointment. The banker calls the client, thinking that he or she is an interested client seeking U.S. Banks services, and instead gets an earful, informing them that, in fact, they requested no such appointment and in some cases haven’t solicited U.S. Banks services in years.
Sometimes up to 4-5 appointments getting added to banker’s schedules, all of them undesired and unsolicited.
So the bank’s new approach is essentially spray and prey.
How much further a step is another account opening scandal from this type of conduct? GK must be so proud.

Well we will probably see another suit soon because clients are signing up online for the business checking account and it is automatically opening a merchant services account that charges fees. And there’s no way to opt out. This is per the client calling to close the merchant services account that they did not want or apply for.

Can someone provide more details as to what business line this is taking place under, are they evading going through the proper audience channels, are they calling customers who have opted out of telephone marketing. are bankers being provided with approved calling scripts/guides? This sounds like potential major TCPA violations taking place.

Sigh! This is like Wells Fargo. Except a decade late and a pathetic dollar of an implementation short.

Oops, somebody forgot to let the bank know there was a change in the regulatory environment and you don't terminate relationships because you don't like their business or the way they ethically and legally make money

That feels predatory, on top of being a terrible customer experience.
