How come Target is on a tear financially but yet people on here are so miserable? Our bonuses this year are going to be huge. Why aren’t more people happy? It seems like Target is making a complete comeback in a very short period of time.

Favorable comps. +3% and change against years of declining sales isn't impressive.
Let’s wait until after Q2 earnings at least. One quarter does not make a complete turnaround.
Team culture, poor leadership at director and senior director level, acquiring responsibilities of an entire laid off team member in addition to current responsibilities (adding L5 tasks to my current L6 workload, so fun). Just speaking for myself. A few thousand extra dollars annually in a slightly larger bonus in no way compensates.
Curious if people are laid off, are they eligible to receive their bonuses? Does it matter if you are laid off in the current year or next year?
No matter what the bonuses always end up being minimal and the increases end up laughable even to the top performers. My entire team is completely overworked and everyone feels as if the days of having any work/life balance are long gone.
The sales are comps against a previous bad year. It's not like we're doing great really. It's just better than 2025. And the expectations are super high and people are already overworked and understaffed. It's a long way til April.
@dn Also, bonuses won’t hit our paychecks until 8 months from now. Even if they are good, that’s a long way off of sh-t we have to live through first
Good numbers and good morale don't always move together. Layoffs, longer hours, and thin support explain the gap better than the earnings do. Good numbers don't undo what people actually lived through, especially if the same team is now covering more with less. Bonuses landing well is real, but it can feel like a reward for surviving the cuts rather than proof things are better.
Budgets are cut for everything, positions eliminated or not being filled, lots of pressure with too much work on everyone’s plates. We’re not exactly doing well financially, or if we are it’s not trickling down to the little guys
