I can see that. I can probably name 400 plus people at the company who don't actually do anything valuable

@b6 are you high? The people that are left are the politicians who have their nose so far up the a-s of their manager you don’t know where start and the manager begins. You really think that someone like Arthur is ISG is doing a good job? Hitting people’s bonuses because they want to follow at 1984 jack welch model and have a nice bell curve? The people they have are mo--ns and politicians.

@b6 Hi JC, still trying to justify your useless role at a Dell?

Over 25 years. I've seen the incompetent, the never-was and the burn-out fall by the wayside. They've all been gone for more than a decade. Anyone left has talent, skill and a desire. Maybe not to desire to do the best for the company, but a desire to be seen contributing so they don't get let go in the next round. And with no clear rationale as to why they are severancing this person vs. that person, somehow keeping your job is a skill in itself. So the mere suggestion that these aren't good people, upper management / "leadership" excepted, is a lie.

The article looks and reads like it was paid for by someone in Dell trying to sugar coat the reasons for getting rid of people. "It's not us, it's you"

I know tons of highly capable and intelligent ex-colleagues who were let go. If the strategic direction is for Dell to become a software company then heaven help us all. Culture eats strategy for breakfast. How's Dell's culture at this point in time?

There are a ton of useless eaters associated with a single sale. I'm not surprised.

They've pushed more and more accounts on Sales overlays that you never hear from them. Overlays then concentrate on the biggest bang for their buck.
