They could have added a zero to the six and nobody would have batted an eye. We have so many completely useless VPs who are somehow always safe. Not hard to figure out why. (hint: nepotism/cronyism)

@1j7 Not really, several IT VPs wanted a promotion badly. They did not become SVP due to several performance IT issues among other things, they eventually left. Some were willing to relocate and run the department for several years (London, India, Dubai office) and got promoted to SVP
Just an empty job title. VP has the power to approve but when things go wrong, the blame goes to the person at the bottom of the food chain. Rarely does the VP gets blamed for anything because they protect each other. Any one who speaks up at the injustice will be terminated for "under-performance" even if everyone else is in agreement.
Ethics and compliance org has unethical and few baby sit VPs too.. they are promoted as they are close to svp.
@dy Sadly the GOOD ones were let go FIRST
@d5 VPs know how to play the office politics game which is why they keep their job.
Provide a list to SVP on who should be sacked
I dont even know what these VPs do
