BNY doesn't seem interested in keeping talented employees. They're paying some truly great people to walk out the door with each new layoff. I don't understand the strategy. You pay people to join, you invest in them, and then you pay them to leave? The math doesn't add up.

Lots of companies only look at employees as and expense and not the value they add. If an employee is costing you more than they're making you, then they shouldn't have been hired to begin with.
Even worse, is the policy around career mobility.
Why would any employee accept a job that is defined as a higher title and salary but be told that since they are already an employee they must do that position with no salary increase or title bump for at least a year and hope mgmt will do right by them and somehow find a way to get you the salary bump at merit time. There won’t be many mgrs willing to reduce at least 15 of their current employees 2 percent merit to 1 percent to give you the 15 percent salary bump that should come with accepting a higher role.

You can visualize Robin sitting in an Oak panel dining room with a man servant behind him reading this in his morning paper going ‘heh heh heh heh … excellent’. And then stuffing eggs benedict and coffee in his mouth while smiling.
I also had it confirmed by one of the officers! Also- there was a su*cide in the garage and at least one at home.
This place should take the trophy of this website. Best of the worst!!
@av That's crazy. I heard the last time there were layoffs in Pittsburgh someone committed su----e in the parking garage. At least they are "better prepared" this time.

I have it confirmed that there are police officers in the Pittsburgh location over fears of layer off/fired employees going postal.
I’ve worked at a few of the biggest banks and brokerage firms in the country…. This is the absolute worst in terms of no direction and a complete rudderless ship…and that is quite an accomplishment…nothing close… it truly is the “ sht hole that all the other sht holes dump into “….. and these a-s kissers and flag waivers on LinkedIn….! If you went by social media postings you’d think BNY is actually a okay place to work…! Miserable, drone like employees trying to earn a living at this retched dump…it’s a pathetic scene… at 500 Grant in Pittsburgh there are cops eyin the lobby… one guess why….??
