Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Past 10 Years, TDC Down 4%

How can an “analytics” company have negative stock price performance and consistently declining revenue for over a decade? This is a high growth market. The leadership is poor and the board is apathetic. This is embarrassing.

The Teradata juggernaut closed down again today to 26.74. In all fairness, Snowflake was down 1.88. But of course they closed at 332.26 which is 1,148% higher than our favorite leader in data warehousing.

@f0 no folks need shut up, you don't cut the hand that feeds you. If you don't like leave to other hand that can feed you. We can use your salary to hire a right person.

The market isn't questioning whether Teradata can make money. The company is generating positive cash flow and improving margins.
The debate is about growth rates.
Snowflake and Databricks are valued for rapid growth. Teradata is valued more like a mature enterprise software company with significant recurring revenue and profitability.
Those are different business models with different investor expectations.
You can criticize the pace of growth, but it's hard to argue that a company generating hundreds of millions in annual free cash flow, paying down debt, and serving some of the largest enterprises in the world has no value.. so shut up or move out.

@ea If you actually work for Teradata it's strange you have zero ability analyze data and trends.

What's your explanation for being in a growth space and while competitors have seen significant growth in revenue while Teradata's growth has been flat?

ARR's declined since Q4 2025 and flat the last 2 quarters.

I don't think you'll shut anyone's mouth.
You'll keep your head in the sand.

@e3 let me shut your mouth. Why don't pay attention to new wins and then you can see how the company is growing. If you don't like it, then get out. oh wait you will not do this , because you may have to work extra and someone will not hire you.

@e1 Cute post. Name the major customers still remaining with Teradata who are not planning to leave.

Name the new Fortune 500 customers Teradata has landed year to date.

Otherwise, shut up.

@bw company is doing great. Everyone has been saying teradata is done, but is it. Teradata helps large enterprises turn massive amounts of data into business outcomes using analytics, AI, and agentic AI at scale.

Over the last 5-7 years the company has cut its staff from 10k to 5k, allowing key, knowledgeable employees to walk out the door and replace with cheap offshore labor. There is no way to put a positive spin on negative growth (ie, losing customers) in an exploding AI market where other companies are experiencing double-digit growth. There's no way the company is down only 4%...Everybody is eating TD's lunch today in the AI market and there's been nothing to change this trend outside of reducing heads to make EPS numbers appear more favorable. 2026 Q3 'earnings' will be a more realistic report on how well this company is truly doing.

A company in the hottest growth market over the past decade where start ups are valued in the tens of billions and customers can't get enough of their product has actually gone backwards. It's probably one of the very few to have gone backwards led by very poor management.

@ba
When IC PM tries to explain such things to leadership, we are fully ignored.

@at Engineering is just as frustrated. We recognize quality issues but PM wants more and more. Leadership reducing headcount 3 times this year and adding crazy deadlines.. Most of us are burnt out and done. Quality will continue to decline

How many people worked for Teradata 10 years ago compaired to today?

Its pretty easy to see that Teradata has lost much more than 4%.

I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the gap between what is being communicated and what is being delivered. We're dealing with issues across Lake, Factory, OTF, MCP and AI Studio(joke), and as customer-facing teams, we're the ones having to answer for these product challenges. We need greater focus on execution and delivery.

Is that slip adjusted for inflation? I am sure TDC is down much more than 4%.
