Actual decision:

Laying a disabled person off after they ask for an accommodation is unlawful.

Wells Fargo seems to hate disabled people who ask for an accommodation.

I was laid off the exact day that my WFC accommodation was up for renewal. If I wouldn’t have been so overwhelmed, I would’ve asked an attorney to review the severance documents they gave me. The worst part about being laid off and being obviously disabled is is that it takes so much more time to find a new job due to unconscious bias in the hiring managers. At this point I think poverty is going to get me and my disability will worsen beyond repair before I have the chance to further my career. I don’t think I am going to survive.

It is admittedly rare, but UHC guy would probably disagree with you.

Pretty sure one of the folks named literally got promoted to handle the whole CIB sales org so take what you will from that.

@fd ol it's very naive to think the executive class ever gets held accountable for anything

What we have now is essentially a good ol boys cabal, NYC edition. I doubt any heads will roll. They are to busy plundering, downsizing, and laughing all the way to the bank at our collective expense.

@OP I read the court documents and the executives who retaliated are still working at WF. Do you think there will be consequences for their actions now that the appeal has been finalized? Or are they too important to let go?

Charlie and co. are just going to ramp up layoffs to get ahead of that big legal bill. Glad to see justice served though. Only bad part is that the company did the same thing previously to hundreds, if not thousands, of other employees with no recourse.

@a6 It would have to be that reporter's last day at the network.

It'll never happen, but I wish like he-l a reporter would ask Charlie Scharf about this case the next time he's on their network preening about attrition.
