Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Any further information regarding Home & Community layoffs with losing Humana?

Seems like no one has any official word on what restructure will look like, how many can expect to be cut, when it may be announced vs when it will take effect. Any word from the “rumor mill?” Seems to be all we have. I’m a CC in a heavy Humana state.

@rk Yes, if you carried over 40 hours of PTO then yes they will pay you. I’d rather use my PTO to be honest.

@rj re: severance in sparq underneath the table that lists pay grade and years of service, there is the comment about also paying out the 40 hours, additionally to the indicated severance. I think it may be state specific though and “may” was pretty iffy terminology lol

@r6 What do you mean by “payout 40 hours”? For severance? No it doesn’t work that way. It depends on your years of service and Grade level.

You can roll over 40 hours of PTO to the next year, yes. I don’t know how it affects severance if one is let go. That is the least of my concern personally because I am using up all of my PTO this year. LOL

@ft I’m meeting and exceeding all of my metrics (thankfully??) but I’ve read in other threads (not regarding this specific topic) that many with high performance and tenure have been let go in other situations and departments. This may work a little different, idk. I’ve got everything but 40 hours planned because I did read on sparq that they “may” pay out up to 40 hours if you’ve got it. I’m hoping to either get paid out or make the cut and have it rollover. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst.

No one is certain as to what’s going to happen. I’m sure the “leaders” have some idea. However, there are throwing out random clues.

The care coordinator page has some spotlight sessions for internal job opportunities, some care coordinators in some markets divulged that we are being ranked now from high-to-low performing.

This job is volatile. I think the class action lawsuits played a big part on the contract losses. Appeals are being overturned more frequently now. I will not be surprised if sooner or later our jobs will be abolished and AI will take over completely. Until then, use your PTO.

Humana isn't the last large Payer client to leave. Optum Real is a bust because it isn't 'real' why would any large Payer give margin to their biggest competitor? OR fiasco is making Payer clients question their broader relationship.
