@m2 You have taken the discussion somewhere else altogether. You wanted a logical rebuttal for Oracle not being a law firm that was provided. Because you mentioned money in the same comment, an appropriate response was provided. Now it has turned into a full blown ethics debate. I don't know what you do for a living, but if you are working in Oracle, you should no longer be going by your own argument. That doesn't mean you can tell others what they should be doing or moral benchmarks they should be adopting.
@m0 You're taking a metaphor and parsing it literally, and suggesting gratefulness. You're not wrong with that interpretation. What other virtues can we think of? Whose side would you take with those values if the someone that gives you a paycheck also does something that may hurt others, for example, financially? Is there a dilemma there or are you absolutely clear what everyone should do?
@g2 Just because someone uses fancy phrases and latin words, doesn't make it true. A law firm provides legal services. If you get arrested for DUI, can you call Oracle to get you bail? If the answer is no, then no, Oracle is NOT a law firm. It is still a software company that has its bases covered from a legal standpoint.
There are a lot of things that go on in the world that many might consider ethically wrong but is still legal. What is legal anyway? It is just a set of rules a good majority of people or people with influence consider right. It's just made up.
If someone is an employee of Oracle, you'd think they ought to be grateful to the company for putting food on the table even though they might not agree with some of the company's ways of working.

There's a difference between knowing something and having the might to influence the system even if wrong. Not everyone thinks of money the same way as the oligarchs.
It's hilarious when some people with a video camera and access to internet and probably making less than six figures assume that they can think of things that a $167B net worth, 40 year tech veteran would not have thought of.
