@az It’s worse than that. They’re talking about selling all of their US chemical assets for that. Plus, those of us who work in the olefins/PE world have credibly heard through the grapevine that PA plant cost a lot more than $14B. They paused construction twice. Incredible mismanagement.

Let me get this right

Shell 2022 - spends 14 billion on this chemical asset bundle

Shell 2026 - wants to sell it for only 8 billion. Maybe even to us.

What does it mean when your direct competitor can competently run your assets but you cannot? This is a sign that Shell will go the way of BP due to poor leadership.
