Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Second Separation email?

Hello - Did anyone else get a second separation agreement email yesterday? It’s been over 9 months so it is a bit odd.

Reddit brought it up too

Is it a scam?

Hello All,

I just received an email from IBM titled “Important Information About a Test Document You May Have Received.”

The email was issued to clarify the communication sent earlier this week regarding separation agreements. IBM has now officially characterized that communication as an accidental testing error.

This was an administrative error made as IBM prepares for the next layoff cycle. The preparation for the forthcoming reduction action is officially underway.

@kc
It was sent out aug 21st with 30 days to sign.
I just tried checking it today and the link was expired , so yeah thats odd it expired a few days after it was sent.
It gave an option to resend the link, which I tried. Will post back with updates if it gets resent.

@jm Let us assume, the professional HR people have been let go recently. They are being replaced by some incompetent Indian, the Indian keeps making stupid mistakes.
I am guessing, the people intended for the next round of RA's are having more time until the Indian cabal gets its act together and train the Indian HR monkeys.

I got it too. Very suspicious. I plan to wait and see if they saying anything more about it. Do not sign it.

I got laid off in dec 2025 . I got one too. Mine kept referring to a payment of sorts, yet never detailed what the payment would be if I signed this separation agreement.

So everyone thinks its a glitch I assume. Thats thw general consensus.

And did yours mentioned payments but never disclose any payment info ?

@d7 it wasn’t a hack but a mistake as they are preparing for the next round of RAs.

The comments in that thread suggest it's a hack attempt, that they're demo docusign document links, not real ones.

If so, it means IBM had a data breach of the people who were let go last time.

Not that I'd expect them to ever announce this or do anything about it. You don't get izzat for doing the right thing, you get izzat for looking like you're doing the right thing. Chaalaki, woo.

@OP @a8 correct a glitch.
Not a scam just a deployment mishap. They’re staging the system for the next release cycle and apparently pushed out the beta draft versions from the previous round and recipients by mistake.
