Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

No Departure Instruction or Protocol/ Procedures Provided

For weeks I have been inquiring with AskHR, local HR and other leadership of when one departing 9/4 can expect to receive ANY sort of instruction on what we are to do, how we are to do it, what procedure to follow on 9/4, etc. and nobody can provide any insight or instruction. The best I get is 'keep an eye on your personal email' or 'on or around 9/4'.

Anyone else experiencing this or the opposite, has anyone received helpful information on what we can expect on our last working day and what protocol looks like?

@k6 If your PL forgot to click a submit button to complete the process maybe you will get lucky and the paychecks will keep auto depositing into your bank account without you ever working another day. You know like Office Space!

I am kidding around! Lol

@d9 What @bj shared is not speculation. What you need to know is in the guide that was sent to you in Workday. Only two things could've happened for you not to be aware of steps to take before, on, and after 9/4/26 if you were RIF'd: 1) You received the information in Workday but didn't download and print it before YOU hit submit, or 2) Your PL has not gone into Workday to complete steps on their end for you to receive the information in Workday.

@d9 I got that information from the VSP packet-specifically the benefit guide as another commenter cited.
That is not speculation.

@bj thank you however, the inquiry is not what happens POST-9/4. It’s what, if anything special we are supposed to do ON 9/4, during they day of separation to prepare for the last minute of employment. Any specific close-out from the company instructions, etc. or is it just a normal day, log out at the end and that’s a wrap.

Future posters: No speculations please. Only share if you actually know the facts or have experienced it so the useful information. Thanks.

@OP Everything that will happen after 9/4 is explained in the benefits guide. You should've received an email with a hyperlink to download and print it. If you haven't, your PL may not have hit submit on their end.

@ac you have 45 days to apply for COBRA, there should not be a gap.

@ac potentially, for a short period of time, I suppose. Based on the FAQ, they claim effective date will be retro to term date once paperwork is returned and processed.

The Cobra insurance baffles me. They are going to send a letter to us in mid to late September. Then we can sign up. Sounds like this process could delay until October but does that mean we will have an insurance gap. I believe our current insurance expires Sept 30.
