Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Anybody here from Fidelis?

What’s the talk around here? I’m working remote so hard to gauge what’s going on in other departments here. Been here for more than 5 years.

@a2 - just basically brushed off and breezed over .
Let’s face it. It’s hard to get thousands of long term, dedicated, mission- focused employees focused on making more and more money for a corporate giant… when that giant just said “ yeah.. you should probably go because we’re probably going to cut some of you guys anyway “ so why would they try to put lipstick on a pig by discussing something they clearly haven’t been informed about fully and have little to no control over ?
And don’t think this new CEO is “ our guy “ either . They like to talk a lot of folksy sh-t .. sure .. but they aren’t a Father Frawley, or a Dave, or a Tom .. they are usually coming from another Centene company these days like Andi .
No amount of new buzzwords of the year can erase the fact that loyalty Fidelis staff has given has not been reciprocated. We have built this company and cared for this company over the many many years we have been here . We “ bleed teal “ as Portsmore likes to put it .. but we need to see more out of Centene than “ you need to do more with less “ as we very clearly watch c-suites salaries and benefits accelerate in spite of the “ medicaid crisis “
Fidelis has been the goose that laid the golden egg for Centene.. yet they have been stripping this company to the bones and raking in the profits . Resources once available to employees such as mifis for field work, marketing giveaways for outreach, even uniform shirts this year - GONE.. or in very very short supply . Support staff - gone . Offices closed or severely downsized . Expenses highly scrutinized . Company holiday parties - gone . Overtime gone for the non exempt even though they keep pushing us to push higher workloads so people don’t get cut.
The micromanagement has risen to the point that even the workaholics are very uncomfortable .
They shouldn’t be surprised that so many Fidelis people took the buyout. People are unhappy with the direction things are going.
And frankly, it’s a mistake to take a well respected company and apply garbage financial principals to it when that wasn’t what made the company successful in the first place .
People don’t want to talk to a machine when it comes to their health care or questions they may have about coverage or billing when theirs a discrepancy . People don’t want a machine making decisions about their medications or surgeries. People don’t want to talk to a machine to enroll
Or renew . Nor do they want to speak to someone in another country for any of these things . Just bad bad decisions being applied to a company that rose in popularity because of its PEOPLE .

Fidelis employee here, the more people take the VSP, the less people they will have to terminate. The opposite is also true. See⁹ms like all around downsizing is inevitable by/ on/ around August with decisions being made in July.

I'm thinking many PM's and staff working on Marketplace initiatives will definitely get axed first. I'm going to ride this one out. Taking the VSP most likely means no Unemployment Insurance safety net!
