10% pay cut for all virtuals!
I bet most would stay.
Virtuals making $$$ while living their best life in low cost areas without commute cost.
@ct you are d-mb
Mostly Virtual and live about 7 miles from the office. I have a cube at the center but I hate going in every day. The guys there argue politics way too much and there's always construction. The wrench turners come in every day but if you have a brain, you can usually call your shots. I could make mire outside but I sacrifice money for flexibility. The day that ends is the day I pack my bag.
The plenty is about to be rounded up and cut more than half but with a lot less real soon, the picks have been chosen for the upcoming rodeo.
I'm virtual and live within 35 minutes of several offices with available seating. Why? I do not offer any unique skills nor am I a member of any club. I was 5 day and asked if I could do 3 days in office for the remainder of 2023. Manager was told to let me go virtual until further notice. Been that way since then. I do go to an office 3 days each month just for appearances but only 1 day is required. Has anyone asked to alter your obligation? Doesn't hurt to ask.
“ All the virtuals should get a salary cut…”
Why does ME getting a salary cut or losing my job somehow make YOU feel better about yourself?
What a vengeful and mean person you are.
Still plenty of us virtual workers in Torretta , your leaders are just not making a case to keep you virtual .
Didn’t Stinky say that there wouldn’t be any more virtuals by the end of the year?
@js "You all should bring that up at all town halls and surveys."
You realize that the C-Suite does not give a flying f-k about the worker's opinion, right?
All the virtuals should get a salary cut if they want to stay virtual. Have you looked at gas prices lately? You all should bring that up at all town halls and surveys.
BUT we are still valuable members of our team
I know plenty of people who could say the same thing and their coworkers said the same thing about them who were STILL told to report to a hub fulltime or be terminated.
One was the lead developer on a project and deamed so important that the brought him in as a virtual employee when they were getting rid of contractors (legg org initiative to convert valuable contractors to employees). Then was terminated when he refused to locate to a hub (was > 100 miles away and still told to do the 1x a month at the beginning which he did). Had to get a hotel room but then they still upped it to 5x at which point he said no.
I know another under Press who was hired as virtual and had gotten a promotion just prior to the hub initiative and was initially told to report 1x a month and then also later 5x at which point he said "no". They had no one to replace him and dragged the termination for close to a year but he had signed the "i will not move" letter and also terminated him.
So they both were valuable and were STILL terminated for not moving to a hub. Consider yourself lucky. They make all kinds of exceptions and generally how valuable isn't always the reason.
The pettiness with some of you is just baffling.
Have you considered this?
Some still of us that are still virtual simply do not live near enough to a suitable (in the eyes of leadership) office to realistically report to 5 x 8.... BUT we are still valuable members of our team; or perhaps we lead a critical initiative or program. If none of that was true, we would be gone. Also, as mentioned by someone earlier...our L3 is still allotted a 10% virtual employee count.
So I report to that office 100 miles away without fail, at least once a month, to comply.
And I prepare myself for the day when they inevitably ask me to leave, which I will be fine with, as I am toward the end of my career anyway.
Until then, still here. Still virtual.
The virtuals have more job security than the rest…they are protected & even favored by their supervisors all the way to the VP level…they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon despite everyone asking every few weeks. Even at the beginning, it was announced that each org was allowed 10% virtual. All orgs are within that number now. So chill & maybe focus energies of self-upskilling & making yourself irreplaceable so that you can be virtual someday!
CSO has many virtuals who are still close to retirement and some not so close to retirement.
Did you leave anyone out with that statement? When did at&t care a bit how close anyone was to retirement? They save more when they get rid of people before retirement with all those "tremendous" 🙄 retirement benefits
All virtuals are SBC bootlickers and ankle grabbers and non productive pets significantly contributing to company’s complete demise. They also have the necessary pictures.
CSO has many virtuals who are still close to retirement and some not so close to retirement. It all depends on your visibility and the value you bring.
cso Is full of exceptions with everything. Even non hub created for baich pals charlotte is an exception.
Virtuals will be there as long as their managers can support them. It has nothing to do with performance. If you are white and a talker you get virtual. Else you pack your bags.
It’s one thing to be virtual if your job warrants it. They’ve said from the beginning that about 1% of jobs would be. The REAL issue is the people that get to remain out of HUB when so many were let go for that reason alone.
Mommy, why do other people get to WFH and I don't?
I am going to hold my breath until they let me stay home!!
Still here. Still virtual.
Yes lots of them. Winners and losers totally random.
Legg and Press have them all over the country.
