@OP

The layoffs today appear to be wide spread. Multiple departments and multiple regions.

Clearly there is something going on. There must be a mandate from the very top to cut costs. I’m not sure if EMT will truly understand the resulting impact with cutting so many people in one day. There will be a fallout.

They are sitting on a lot of cash due to record profits and want to leverage this opportunity to trim the ranks. However, the folks being let go represent real work that was being done.

Now they’re gone …. ‼️

Control Execution in Recovery/Collections took a huge hit. Both analyst level and direct supervisors. Myself and my entire team are gone. Many of my peers and their remaining team members also got hit in the business control world.

  1. No lay offs for Non-citizens.
  2. "New" contractors SOWs are getting approved in the high cost locations.
  3. Almost NO layoffs in India, Poland, Costa Rica and other low cost locations.
  4. More hiring in off shore locations: both employees and contractors.
  5. American dream??? Yes, just a dream!

One of my colleagues was laid off 30 minutes ago, based in NYC. I am still processing the news. There's only ONE person left in my colleague's team. Unreal.

@a3 it’s their choice. Most folks like to post somewhere and say it out loud if it happens to them. It’s a way of coming to terms with it. If not, they won’t. But others on their team might, or if you hear about other teams being impacted, then here’s a place to post it.

For all the layoffs happening over the past few years, our area only saw the first cuts in May. This was for ICRM, when we had cuts across the globe. Only 4 in our Belfast site, 0 in London, 0 Nj.

Best of luck to anyone impacted, but these threads don't bear much without LOB / locations.

I’m sure that if someone’s life is turned upside down today, that their first priority will be to come on here and give you all the details to make you feel better that you were spared. SMH
