I watched a Senior Director that was supposed to work all week go from green this morning to the gray x. Their schedule is blocked off indefinitely (I was going to schedule a meeting).

Go into workday and type in their name and select search. You should be able to see if they are actively employed ir not.
You can also go to Workday and search People. Place the employees name in the field box. If the employee is on leave, terminated, etc, it will reflect on that website as well.
Go to your state town hall group chat in Teams and go through the list of people. If their bubble is completely empty (not a gray x or anything) then they are no longer with the company. If they have been gone from the company for a decent amount of time it will say unknown user. In my state it appears various analysts, managers in care management, care managers, care navigators and engagement specialists have been let go so far.
If you type their name in Outlook it will not populate anymore. However, I have heard some people are still working a few weeks after they were notified though (or still have to work until their VSP date if they took VSP) so you would not know with them in the system yet.
If they are no longer with the company, you will also see "Status Unknown" when you hover over their name on Teams.
No longer in company directory.
Emails sent bounce.
Two of my co workers have not been online since Thursday no away status a lot of people who may have accepted VSP are on PTO
Another tell is that when you click in Teams to look at their org chart, it’s gone. Someone who was RIFed earlier had their org chart disappear in Teams within 15 minutes of being notified.
Thats normally a sign they ve been rifd
