The first one is getting laid off. The second, and more revealing one, is not getting laid off because that means staying in a place we hate, watching the ship slowly sink while we're still on it. And I know of more and more folks who feel this way. Says a lot about T, doesn't it?

I'm in neither of those camps. I'm in the give me two more years and I'm retiring camp. But if you lay me off first then so be it. No fear of either
Just watched "Freefall" on Netflix, a documentary about the downfall of Boeing. Reminded me so much of AT&T.
I don't know, I am really starting to enjoy the shadenfreude of watching the Dallas ninnies crash the company. My retirement accounts are safe. My skillset has value. They no longer have any power over me. If you think about it, they probably don't have any power over you either. Stop worrying about what incompetent people think of you.
I like having a paycheck to pay my bills, that’s why I’m here. It sure beats pulling from savings and assets to support the family. I used to want to climb the ladder and busted my tail for a very long time and delivered amazing results time and time again. I kept hitting my head on the ceiling and then I was told well, if you aren’t in Dallas you can’t get promoted (I’m in Atlanta). After that, I threw in the towel and started looking elsewhere. What a very short sighted way to run things. So I’m here until I find something better or they lay me off. The only fear I have is staying here longer and spinning my wheels even more.
A lot of truth to this post....since Stankey and team can't run and grow a profitable business, they need to cut, cut, cut.... chatgpt can do that ,,,,don't need Stankey and his 30M salary....sadly the culture has changed to one where employees keep their heads down, do the bare minimum and hope not be in the next layoff.... T used to be a proud, innovative company where people felt good about working there.
Even with a fair share of BS, T has helped make me wealthy. So I’m fine.
