Are they a thing?

@h6 You could apply that to pretty much the entire company. Those who think it's great here are delusional.
Pip - pisssss in poooooooop
PIPs are also an indication of management failures. They've failed to encourage the staff to want to care. Often due to unfair pay. I'm not so concerned what my pay is, but it sure does P*** me off that colleagues who don't achieve any more than I do earn 25% more just because of when they joined. And PIPs are also caused by the pure bureaucracy of this company which makes achieving anything useful near impossible. So after endless years of trying for a redundancy, you can see why people just give up and say ok - you can pay me now to go through this long process whilst I sit back and do nothing, as I have no intention of getting another job, and certainly not in this industry.
Yes DXC uses the PIP process, especially in some of the more mature countries like US. It’s more for company to have documentation before termination. When I was a manager at DXC I never saw a PIP result in employee improving and coming out of it still an employee. They were not used a lot. They are kind of a pain to administer.
