Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

The UK problem nobody is talking about

Anyone else seeing what’s happening in the UK?

Good people are leaving, particularly women, and others seem completely burnt out. Yet we still hear all the usual talk about diversity, inclusion and people being our biggest asset.

Since the leadership change, the culture feels completely different. There seems to be a leadership style being imposed that just doesn’t translate well to the UK market or the way teams here have historically operated.

More pressure, more workload, questionable appointments and everything coming back to the numbers. People can deliver what’s asked of them and still somehow be told they need to improve.

And it’s not just employees noticing the change. Some partners and customers are starting to see the disconnect too, which should be a much bigger concern for the business.

NetApp UK used to have a great reputation and culture. It’s sad watching that disappear.

Some really good folk have just upped and left the business with nothing else even lined up. What does that tell you?

And now they’re struggling to replace them. People seem keen enough until they actually meet the UK leadership and see what’s going on, then suddenly they’re not so keen.

You’ve got to ask yourself why decent people would rather walk away with no job to go to than stay there. Says a lot if you ask me.
