I haven't had a life since I joined six months ago. Is this normal?

This is normal if you have a real job at a real company, and are motivated to perform. Not sure when it became an expectation that you can stay in your pajamas all day long and sit in front of a screen.

The reward for good work is more work. Move into another job and watch them have to hire 3 people to handle the workload that you shouldered. There are those that won't understand your ask because they are the slackers, but even they are right when saying you have to find your own work/life balance because the company will take everything you give and you will not be compensated for that extra effort (don't get me wrong, the compensation is good but not when you are working more than the hours than your peers).
What a bunch of babies. Chevron office jobs are gravy. You can tell be who hasn’t work for a different company by the whining and complaining on this site. If you are stressed over a Chevron job it’s a you problem not a Chevron one.
I used to get only 1 and 2+ on my PMP, but covid really changed everything. All the WFH and having flexibility shifted my outlook on life in general.
I see my teammates grind out 50, sometimes 60 hour weeks - and for what? A slightly bigger raise and bonus than me, but the $/hour worked is absurd. I would like to think my potential is there, but I probably only work my core hours Tuesday through Thursday. I actually choose to stay home Monday unless I absolutely have to go in for a meeting, and I’m out by 3 pm anyway. Friday WFH is pretty chill.
I would say the work life balance is definitely still there, but just don’t expect to compete as well as the try-hards who really do put in a lot more work than me.
If you let others or your employer dictate your life, the blame is on you, you live once, chose how you like to live and what you like to work on. As soon as you become the slave of your employer you dont have a life let alone work life balance become a fancy word to cope with your miserable situation.

The new org has created an absurdity at its core. Many who possesses a highly specialized skill asks an equal peer or someone more senior to perform that exact skill for them. It’s a dystopian loop of borrowed competence: a workplace full of pilots asking other pilots to fly their planes, all while sitting in the back seat wondering why the airline is having suspect OPEX.
