Topics regarding layoffs at Bank of America

LOCRO

The bank is moving around employees. LOCRO got several employees added to their teams. We have a so called new "proficiency coach" for CRO but she doesn't know litigation and is never in the office. She pawns off her work to CRO specialists, makes... — read more

Interviews & Offers

I did interviews for them as a previous employee and both interviews went extremely well. However as I waited for a respond I was notified there was a hiring freeze . I want to verify this wasn’t just me and others received the same follow up. Which... — read more

BofA is so toxic right now

All the managers are currently freaking out trying to prove they're worth keeping around for the next inevitable round of layoffs. They straight up told us that they were not gonna fill any open positions, so we have to work even harder for even less... — read more

The truth about work from home.

I want people to know the truth about WFH with all the discussions going on. I was part of a group that was asked more than once to move in order to keep my job. If you didn't we were told we would be let go. We'll some people were never let go and... — read more

Six interviews in the last two months and no offers

Each time I thought I did great, they seemed satisfied and vocalized it, and then I either got an email that they decided to go with another candidate or they ghosted me altogether. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, which confuses me even more... — read more

Earnings report is in about two weeks

Should we assume that we'll have no layoffs before then? I'm thinking that the management will wait to finalize and report numbers before they decide to let go of any more people. But I also think that after the report all bets are off and we might... — read more

External Offer - Seeking Internal Match

Received external offer (w/ slight bump, but longer commute). Informed manager, who is consulting HR for retention options. I've heard of off cycle increases, but how hard are they to get, plus wondering if hiring freeze lowers probability of getting... — read more

Open Seating

I keep hearing it's a lot of locations that are now doing open seating instead of having assigned cubicles. Is it because of people not returning to the office and the medical "accommodations"? So far from my location we still have assigned seating... — read more

No Badge Swipes = Call from HR

Someone just told me HR is reaching out to people regarding their lack of badge swipes and failure to return to office. Apparently some people have been fired over failure to return.. Is this true?

Guardian Approvals..

What genius suggested that it was a good idea to send badge, access, guardian approvals to literally every ACR that ever existed regardless of the site building and location. WTH? I’m spending a great deal of time deleting these damn emails.

Something coming?

The comments are turned off on flag scape. Connections has been down for days. They will start “moving” people around in locations soon….

What’s going to happen to CLT contractors?

2x the bodies for the amount of space, it doesn’t seem like there’s room for us at all without disrupting people’s personal space, while they are still chasing down additional FTEs to come in.

RTO Compliance Reporting Coming Next Week

RTO reports will be sent to managers next week. Combination of badge swipes and VPN time for the Jan - March. Those not in compliance will be given a verbal warning. Reports will be produced monthly thereafter and continued failure to comply will... — read more

There are no upsides to RTO

They want employees to be just as productive as they were working from home but also want them to be in an open space office where the distractions are endless. RTO would make more sense if it was truly beneficial but I've yet to see it and... — read more

Redeployments/layoffs

Has anyone heard any real news about redeployments or layoffs coming this week? I am worried with this rumour of March 27th going around. https://www.pymnts.com/news/banking/2023/bank-of-america-reportedly-shifts-employees-from-lending-unit/

2/3 no unpaid overtime or weekends

"Simple. Limit VPN to 18 hours total between Mon-Fri 8-5pm local time. After hours and weekends would be unmetered." No 40 hours should be all that is required, weekends and afterhours need additional pay and benefits.

Retirement Announcements?

Has anyone noticed any managers suddenly announcing their retirement from Bank of America in 2023?

So much for retirement

Retiring from a bank successfully has become as rare as finding a needle in a haystack due to all the layoffs going around for the past several years. In fact, your chances of getting struck by lightning are probably higher than achieving a... — read more

RTO Engagement

Reason 1,659 why I hate RTO.. they want us to plan engagement activities- but not everyone can RTO, so we have to “get creative”.. but we can’t just send gift cards, can’t get home addresses in order to include those with accommodations, but we have... — read more

3/2 rule and time off

For those trying to comply with 3/2, are you counting days off (vacation, personal, holiday, sick, etc) entered in workday as a office day? I haven't seen guidance on this but know some other companies that do 3/2, count days off as an office day... — read more
