Any hints on the next round of layoffs? After Q2 earnings, or later?

@1s4 Thing is though, anyone with financial analytic skills can see its far from fine. In fact, it's burning roughly 400 million a year on interest alone. That's not sustainable.
@1bt Oh I had a come-back. I had my “thank-you-sc--w-you” well prepared in advance. I was stiffened and scared when I was notified but damn it felt good to come back at his notice. I’m so glad now they let me go. I’ve never been happier in my entire professional life. Other than the very talented people I worked with, many of whom are friends today… I don’t miss that Sabre cesspool for a moment.
All is good, sabre is doing just fine, stop stirring the pot you ungrateful bunch of crybabies.

🙋♀️ One of the many US employees let go for their benefit. They expect us to train our overseas replacements the rest of the month for our send off gift I guess. Winning!?
Hi Kraków.. are you ready? 😜
@108 My almost-layoff was after 9/11 (the first of two). They almost always send someone anonymous who doesn't know you. No notice - just walked up and thankfully rumors had swirled where I had a pre-typed farewell email to hit SEND before he made me close laptop. 15 years and felt worthless, but at least back then we got 6 months severance. Sad times. Wishing you all the very best. As many stated, it used to be a great company. Those years were the best in my career. <3 Hang in there.
@180 Legally, it’s an offer, but functionally, it’s a blur. The person delivering the news wants to get through the script as fast as possible, and the you are too stunned to hear anything beyond "you're gone." Overwhelmed and Angry you sign the documents just to escape the situation. The second-guessing—the realization of what should have been said—only arrives later, after the shock wears off. It hits everybody differently, I guess
@16w Legally it is an “offer” because you could decline what they are offering you should you choose to bring a lawsuit against the company for any number of reasons. If you do bring suit their “offer” will be rescinded. Taking their money in the layoff deal they make… 1 or two weeks pay depending upon level for each year of service… is the payoff to go away. So, it is an offer which you can decline.
@10r It wasn't an offer, or at least mine wasn't put that way..
@108 Business as usuall. I do remember layoffs over decade ago, it looked the same but with local HR not directors. It's basically, "you're fired, here's our offer".
When I got notified I was in the US and notified by a director in KRK I didn’t know, he did know me and just read from a script. No emotion. Just wanted to get through it and not have to take any questions… moving on to the next person. They should save themselves the effort and send an email. You have an employee number and that is all you are to someone who looks at your line on a spreadsheet in a sort and decides you are the one in this month’s layoff group. It is a faceless, soulless exercise of “exiting” you from the company.
Heard rumours that layoffs will be announced in the next earning call on Thursday
Damn, I would prefer to be laid off right now and catch some summer time while I can. But knowing my luck they will fire me around November or something just in time to shovel snow in KRK 😁
Probably sooner than any rumors will be. Meeting invitations with blank or odd subjects that appear suddenly or from people you don’t know are all signs of you’re the next contestant!
Heard rumors September could see some cuts. Don’t know if that’s true but wouldn’t doubt it.
The last round didn't completely finish yet but don't worry about missing out, your time to get laid off will come soon enough, especially if you're in the US!
