Any news about Germany?
@OP Antony did town hall yesterday and confirmed 600 roles in Europe, consultation for Rotterdam and Warsaw, nothing UK specific asked in questions but they did acknowledge openly that they were moderating so bet many were asking the same
Think some lessons learned after last weeks town halls: no reactions, publishing only “safe” questions, and upvoting of questions disabled… even so still seemed to be better than anything coming from NA or AP hosted town halls which speaks volumes sadly
Three things standing out:
1) 600 out of 2600 is nearly a quarter, feels like bigger % share relative to other regions
2) No UK collective consultation, no real answer as to how that is possible, so either offer so good no one wants to risk losing it in tribunal, or they’ve somehow juggled impacts across acquired entities to keep each under the threshold
3) Might be a red herring, but anyone else think holding town hall whilst he was on PTO seemed bizarre? Did the comms about timing really fail to circulate that badly or with sufficient notice? Can’t imagine being away knowing that was occurring
IMO still too many unaddressed questions, all amidst an atmosphere of constant uncertainty with demotivating news coming out nearly daily. This “empathetic approach” is tone deaf and ignorant of reality from HR and C-suite, and have yet to see a proper org chart or roadmap that suggests anyone with critical thinking skills planned this out properly
Visa appears to be making people in the UK redundant pretty immediately. Somehow they have avoided the need to do collective consultation.
How are they following the redundancy process in the UK? Under UK law you have to disclose the ways posts for redundancy were selected, and give employees notice their job is at risk.
Which teams in London?
Yes, redundancies here as well. No different to other locations.
