Walmart intends to reduce San Bruno staffing mid to late August 2026. August has traditionally been a favorite month for Walmart to lay off associates.
No big deal, though. San Bruno is the leftover bastion from the failed merger, and this appears to be just more cleanup and wind down. There is some speculation, however, that other locations might be hit, as well. We’ll see as more info leaks.

@OP Any new layoff rumor with a "mid to late August" timeframe needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The large layoffs announced in May will result in many separations of those previously impacted employees in mid to late August, which is the date the WARN's will be stating.
Jet.com was always an IP play. Walmart wanted to look at the underlying code, business model, and tap into tech talent they hadn't been able to recruit until that point. Post Lore, Walmart became a much stronger eCommerce player.
Remember that Jet.com had never made a $1 in profit when Walmart acquired them. Marc Lore had built Jet.com to be acquired by a large company - not to be self-sufficient long term.
Yes, it’s been expected. The Jet.com deal will probably go down as one of the biggest mistakes and most useless deals in history. Well, except the disastrous India and UK messes.
They’ll probably start bringing their H1B guys on soon, too.
