Question - preparing to be laid off as we all should be, IMO. How does severance pay work - do you get one lump sum or is it continued paychecks based on your tenure. If the later, do the checks stop when you find new employment?

@aa Just to be clear, you $$$ 30-45 after you sign the release. If you’re having a lawyer review the documents that will eat up a couple/few weeks. If you have questions for Centene HR, they take a minimum of two weeks to respond and the answers are worthless. Plan on 4-6 weeks before you’re even ready to respond. Also, if you have a Q4 term date, you may want to consider signing in Jan 2027. My window did not allow me to do that so I had income for the year 1.5x’s + normal. Ugly tax year. Good luck all.
And remember that one lump sum is taxed at a higher rate. So it’s never as much as you expect.
@OP One lump sum which you will receive 30 - 45 days after last day.
It's one lump sum. It takes some time to actually come to though.
