I heard that folks on laat displacement didn’t get packages. Any truth to that?

Hmm. Lay you off and pay severance and be out 40-70k or go to court and win and pay attorney fees of 50k or go to court and lose and be out 250k. I mean the leadership is not the brightest but they are not that stupid.
Terminations get no severance and those have ramped up since 4q last year.
I wish it were still the one month per year of service instead of two weeks.
I'd still be getting paid. Imagine having close to the max years of service. I had 24.

finding ways to fire people instead of laying them off with severance is not the same as severance going away.
Why does this come up all the time? they would announce any change in severance policy. What has changed is they're getting around severance by "managing performance". Making sh*t up and forced rankings. then they fire you for performance reasons they just pulled out of their as--s.
Surprising to see that there are employees that still don’t realize this is indirectly happening right now. The company isn’t going to announce that they are stopping severance because they don’t want the reputational damage. The company IS forcing false negative ratings to performing employees that then quickly turn into terminations without severance. Wake up
I was laid off for a fabricated performance issue after 27 years. There was no change in my performance. I was still resolving issues as I had always done although manager claimed I hadn’t used AI for seven days all of which I was on PTO. I disputed with HR but they had no ability or desire to go against manager’s claim.
They could totally take severance away if they wanted to, as the fine print always says that these rules are subject to change. Paying severance costs less overall than paying someone to work. Thus why overseas labor and AI take over. Not only that, accepting severance legally binds you to them in terms of what you can say or do in relation to them for the rest of your life. So even then they got you by your disco ba--s. Unlikely that they will end severance.
it's all outlined in the benefits book, until it's changed there it will not be changing.

You can set your watch to when the next "they are eliminating severance" post shows up. It's become kind of comforting, like an old friend

It’s happening. My friends cousins neighbor knows a guy who is related to the guy that cuts Charlie’s hair and he confirmed it.
