Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

September layoffs

We know we still have like 26000 people to layoff before the year is over according to Jane’s press release

What departments and locations are being impacted?

I'm expensive, in a high cost location tap in/out and quiet quit a long time ago. Guess what? I'm safe and we all get paid on Friday, 401k matchy match and my ADD meds are still fully covered. Late labor day this year, endless summer seems.

Those offshore people are cr-p at their jobs and communication skills. Many hide at home. They only get the job because they are cheap. It’s truly a sh**ty bank.

It’s only the local ‘Citi’zens getting sc--wed. Citi would rather pay a premium in visa fees for foreign labor they can completely enslave, extract every drop of value from, and toss into the garbage the second it suits the bottom line.

September 16th is the supposed blood bath I don't think anyone is safe, in San Antonio HQ the last round had layoffs for hybrid in office employees so that doesn't mean anything. I've also seen people who were 2nd ranked on their team and still laid off so I think the main factor is combo of performance and senority because they are trying to save money on the severance package. So if you have a bunch of coworkers who are 15+ yrs and you only been here a couple years be prepared to be let go in September.

It is my estimate that they're about 4 to 5000 more jobs in the United States. But they also mentioned that they were going to do more layoffs than they had planned. If you look at the job openings , you will see that they are doing a lot of hiring at the four main hubs that have campuses. The four legacy hubs that do not have campuses are most likely the main targets. If You're at 1 of the 4 legacy hubs. You cannot apply for jobs because all the job listings you have to be fifty to seventy miles from an actual campus. Overtime the four legacy Hubs have slowly been switched over to back room Only workers. Now that they have gotten rid of all the management that they were planning on getting rid of They will now start getting rid of all of the back room workers. The back room workers are the workers that are easier to replace with automation. Again , look at the new job listings and see if any of them are the same job that you are doing. They are not hiring new people. Because they need more people, they are hiring more people at the campus Hubs to replace the people that are at the non campus hubs. Also a lot of jobs are now going hybrid. If you have not been offered a hybrid position that may also be a bad sign. If you are 50 miles from a campus and you're able to go in 3 days a week and you are a Front room worker , then your job should be okay. This is not inside information , this is just understanding of the way corporations work and what citibank is doing.
