Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I've been saying for over a year on here now... at some point Dell is going to have to start targeting remotes. It started with the hybrid thing 2 years ago, and went full force when the full RTO policy went into affect. They want EVERYBODY to be local to an office and be IN office.

They have cut 10s of thousands over the last 6 years and now are focusing on remotes because... You are remote. You can't be promoted, you can't come into office and most importantly, you can't collaborate in person with your peers! (sarcastic)

So yeah, as I've been saying for the last 2 years now... Remotes are going to start getting targeted.

For a field ISG role is I8 considered a Principal? Seems a number of I8s were cut. Were they on the higher end of the pay scale?

There are always layoffs. One here, another there, or sometimes dozens or hundreds at once. It is the Dell Way.
Some people I know in Hopkinton, Mass have their last day tomorrow. Good people.
Stop asking if anyone heard of layoffs. Yes, they are always happening.

@b8 I'm remote and wonder when I'm going to be hit. How do we see what everyone is saying on slack?

@bc Going after the remotes. I was a remote and was assured I was safe.

Not true...was cut in May. A or A+ yearly reviews with multiole bonus modifiers added for "good work".

Ergo? No one is being spared.

@a4 Happily agreeing with Donnie on the Red Card. A room full of people who’ve never played soccer in their lives. They must have money on the game.
