How long after a meeting where HR coaches the PL on layoff handling will layoffs occur?

@b9 in the last london calling they said 4/5 people who will be laid off came from VSP...we don't know the #'s to get a actual fix on how many...80% of layoffs will be from VSP...20% from reg layoffs..we just dont know the actual #'s

Are RIfs still going to take place even though so many took the VSP?? This is very scary!
Speaking from experience - it was just a few days before that I received specific guidance from HR.
@OP my guess would be the same day. or asap after HR instr PL on the "talking points". The whole situation is awful.
If I was PL, I'd want to get it started as soon as possible
Unless HR tells them a deadline of "not to be disclosed until mm/dd/yy"
I have seen them happen any day of the week. I’ve been laid off on a Monday as well. Most give 60 days notice, but not all make you work it. One place did, the other did not. I would look for a random invite added after you’ve left for the day, or first thing in the am.
Do not take this personally if it happens to you. One place was closing the department I worked in and moved me to another. I left anyway. Second one, myself and another were top performers and were let go. You may never really know the “why.” Only the consultants and PL do.

@a6 I had a team member laid off on a Wednesday this year.
I could of sworn some layoffs have come on a Tuesdays as well. It seemed like Thursdays are most likely, but I thought the 2023 layoffs came on Tuesday.

I've done 4+ RIF's over the years, and known of 10+ others. There is no set 'coaching' timeline - i've had them 4 weeks before, and a few 8 weeks before. The only thing that is consistent, RIF's are always done on a Thursday am. I expect this round for HR to reach out by 8/7 to inform PL's with cuts occurring 8/13. Just a guess.
when that happens it depnds on your states WARN time frame. In california its 60 days. So if you were in california and were told you were being let go today it would be 60 days from today. Each state has their own legnth of notice.
